Welcome to A Zoo to You Inc! We are a family run, mobile petting zoo and animal entertainment company. Together, my wife Amy and I started A Zoo to You Inc. back in 2000, and we offer everything from ponies for parties to exotic reptile shows, and everything in between! Because Amy and I both come from extensive animal backgrounds, we are very much at home with our furry friends. A Zoo to You, Inc is a family owned and operated company, offering everything from educational reptile shows to ponies for parties.
I'm Jason, at the age of 8 I started riding horses and 9 years later I was employed at Santa's Village "Old McDonald's Farm" and South 40 Stables and Exotic Animal Rentals. At Santa's Village, I worked as a farm hand, and occasionally broke ponies for pony rides. Meanwhile, at South 40, I learned how to care for, and properly treat and train a large variety of exotic animals, livestock, and equine. Bears, lions, white tigers, camels, horses, and reptiles are all among the multitude of animals that called South 40 home. At South 40, I began driving horses at the age of 15 and eventually teaching "Zeke," the Pepsi drinking camel, how to ride.
After establishing myself at South 40 with the animals and staff, I was promoted to managing the farm. Meanwhile, in 1993 I enrolled in shoeing school. I continued working at South 40, shoeing horses, and apprenticing for other farriers. In 1997 I met my future wife, Amy, who also was a farrier in the area. After shoeing school, I returned to Santa's Village to provide horseshoeing services, and 1 year prior to its close, A Zoo to You provided their petting zoo animals.
Furthermore, I have always been intrigued by the craft of auctioneering. I used to consider it a hobby for myself, until 2002, in which I attended auctioneering school, and became an Illinois/Wisconsin Licensed Auctioneer; further pursuing an auctioneering career. I genuinely love animals, and that is the inspiration behind A Zoo to You, Inc.
You've already learned quite a lot about me. However, there are more great people that have helped make A Zoo to You, Inc. the great company it is today. First of all, there is my wife Amy, who has been infatuated by animals since she can remember. She also started riding horses at the age of 8. She enjoyed showing hunter/jumper horses for many years. At the age of 18 she acquired Boo, a bay thoroughbred horse. In 1995 Amy began her horseshoeing career, and continues to shoe horses to this day. She is one of the top farriers in the Chicagoland area, and occasionally teaches her skill to prospective farriers. Upon moving to our current home, Amy and I retired Boo here on the farm, where he lived to the ripe old age of 32.
Now, with 2 children of our own, Amy and I continue to run A Zoo to You with the same integrity and care as when we first began.
Ok, I'd be lying if I said Amy and I run A Zoo to You all on our own. Courtney, who has been a loyal employee of ours since 2001, is the farm manager here. She has been with us through thick and thin. She runs the regular day to day care and management of the farm, and continues to manage A Zoo to You Inc.'s mobile activities.
Throughout Courtney's life, she had a true love for animals. At the age of 10, she started riding hunter/jumper horses. At 16, Courtney worked at a horse boarding barn where she cared for and exercised horses, and helped run the lesson program. During high school, Courtney started working for A Zoo to You, and she has been with us ever since. Courtney, along with help from my kids, is mostly responsible for working with our animals to ensure they are friendly and compatible with children and people of all ages. Courtney has a close relationship with our animals; she has bottle-raised many of the exotic and barnyard animals both here at the farm and in her home with her own pets. We hope you enjoy interacting with our animals through our reptile shows, ponies for parties and other great animal encounter services as much as we and our staff do!
Thank you,
Jason, Amy, Ty, and Kaylee Sierpien
